Truth over Trouble

John 16:33 NIV
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Written by: Jesse Flocken

Truth is powerful, but sometimes it is easy to let discouragement fill my heart and mind. I must actively replace those thoughts with the truth of the Bible. Jesus says that there will be trouble in this world. In those tough moments or seasons, we can have peace knowing that Jesus has already overcome the world. The times that I am the most discouraged are when I start to believe the lies of the enemy rather than listening to what Jesus actually says about me. I am a child of God and He is for me, not against me.

Fight-Day1Thought of the day: What trouble in your life are you experiencing? What lie are you believing that is causing you to be discouraged? In today’s passage, Jesus says that He has already overcome the world. You can have peace by believing in your mind and heart in truth over trouble.

Prayer: Jesus, I pray for protection over my thoughts. Help me replace the lies and discouragement I face with the truth of who You are and what You believe about me. Jesus, help me to live in such a way that others can’t help but see You. Amen.
